A Mandarin of Distinction, Canton, 1790

From The Costume of China, 1800. —The drawing was made by Pu Qua in Canton in 1790; ten years later, it was engraved for publication in London by John Dadley—thus the peculiar combination of accurate detail and slightly Westernized style.
